Grass Type Tier List

Grass types are the multiplier on every swing in My Grass Farm. A faster blade on better turf beats a faster blade on empty dirt, and better turf on an idle plot beats nothing. This list ranks types by how they affect a normal session, not by how rare the thumbnail looks.

We do not have a leaked full catalog. Official art shows dense green beds, gold-adjacent merchant gifts, and ultra-rare rainbow clumps. Community codes name MERCHANT as a new Grass Type, often called Gold Grass. Everything else is described qualitatively until the shop UI lists more.

Read this next to how to get rare grass and the upgrade tier list. Workers still have to cut whatever you grow—see the worker tier list.

S tier — cut this if you have it

Merchant / Gold-style grass sits in S for practical players because you can get it with a code instead of a lottery. If MERCHANT is live on the codes hub, redeem it and put Pirate Farmers on that turf. Value per cut jumps without asking you to bankrupt Rolls.

Any confirmed higher-paying type you already own also sits here. If the game labels it clearly and hay Cash ticks up, keep it on the plot. Do not replace it with starter green for aesthetics.

A tier — the honest engine

Starter green is A, not C. It is the grass that exists when you spawn. It pays for Cut Speed. It trains you. A packed green field with workers, as in the “after” half of official before-after art, is a real farm. People skip green to hunt rainbow and then wonder why make money fast feels slow.

B tier — chase when you can miss

Rainbow and other promo-rare clumps are B for income planning even if they are S for flex. Odds in trailers (0.01 percent, one in a million) are marketing language unless the UI repeats them. Hunt them with Pure Luck and Mutation Luck after Silo Rate is healthy. If you never see one, you did not fail the game.

Mutated off-colors you find while rolling belong here too: interesting, not mandatory.

C tier — do not structure the farm around it

Unowned rumor types from random comment sections. If Discord did not show it and the shop does not sell a path to it, it is not a tier, it is a wish. There is no Trello to confirm leaks. Use patch notes and Merchant update instead.

How types interact with land and workers

Better grass on a tiny bed still bottlenecks. Expand only when the current type is actually being cut—how to expand your farm. Workers do not magically prefer rainbow; they prefer whatever is in reach. Assign crew, then roll.

Session advice

Redeem MERCHANT. Cut whatever it gave you. Keep green as backup income. Spend leftover Cash on luck only with a floor. Process hay so you can see whether the new type is actually richer, not just louder.

When a merchant patch adds another named type, this list will move it. Until then, Gold-style from the code and hardworking green will beat a screenshot you do not own.

For the rest of the ranks, return to the tier list hub. For the hunt itself, stay on rare grass.

Mixing types on one plot

You can keep green and Gold-style beds at the same time. Workers will cut what they reach. If you hate micro, pick the higher payer and ignore the rest. If you like experiments, time a lap on each and believe the Cash tick, not the hue. Then spend on the upgrade planner with those ticks in mind.
