How to Hire Workers

Workers are the reason My Grass Farm is a tycoon instead of a lawn minigame. One More Grass says it plainly in the Roblox description: farmers cut grass while you are offline. This guide is about hiring with intent so you do not own a crowd that stands around a tiny patch.

If you have not redeemed RELEASE, do that before you shop. The code grants four Pirate Farmers. That is a starter roster, not a rumor. Details live on the codes hub and the Pirate Farmers page.

What a worker actually does

A hired worker copies the cutting job on your plot. They do not replace the need to process hay or collect stands. They buy you time. The offline farm checklist exists because a worker on a full stand or a locked shop still wastes a night.

You will see named roles in community tools: Farmer, Lumberjack, Cowboy, Chef, Explorer, Pirate, Scientist, Businessman, Robot, Laugher, Stephen, DarkLord, Force, and Tentoes. Those names are in-game labels. We do not have official DPS sheets, so we rank them by when they help a new plot, not by invented numbers. See the worker tier list and the split rosters for starter workers versus special workers.

Hire order that does not bankrupt you

  1. Confirm Pirate Farmers from RELEASE are present and assigned.
  2. If you missed the code, buy a basic Farmer after Cut Speed feels acceptable.
  3. Stop. Play a session. Watch whether hay is actually appearing.
  4. Add a second body only when the first crew clears grass faster than you can process—then raise Silo Rate, not just headcount.
  5. Special names come after the loop in make money fast is stable.

Buying Scientist because the name sounds smart is not a strategy. Buying Robot because a thumbnail glowed is not a strategy. Read the roster pages.

Offline is a setup problem

Before you leave, walk the fence. If workers path into a corner, you need land or a less stupid placement, not five more hires. How to expand your farm covers when land is the real fix. If they cut but you return to unprocessed hay, Silo Rate was the missing hire.

AFK videos look idle because the crew was already paid. Copy the setup, not the sitting.

Codes, merchants, and workers together

MERCHANT changes grass value, which changes how much each worker is worth. A Pirate Farmer on Gold-style turf beats a Pirate Farmer on starter green. Pair this guide with rare grass when you decide whether to hire or to roll.

Do not wait for a Trello. Worker drops and shop rotations are announced in the official Discord or visible in the shop after a patch. Updates tracks the player-facing changes we can verify.

Scripts that auto-buy workers

Auto Buy Workers appears in community hubs with a money reserve slider. That is convenient and risky. If you still look it up, read auto farm and script safety. This hiring guide assumes you click the shop yourself.

Signs you hired well

You log in to hay waiting, not a silent field. Cash from processing that hay pays the next Cut Speed rank. You are not deleting workers to afford food you do not have—there is no hunger meter, only shop regret.

If the field is still full and workers are idle, you hired decorations. Re-read Getting Started and the workers hub. Then fire the plan, not the Pirate Farmers.

Hire slowly. Four Pirates plus one Farmer you understand will beat a full themed collection that never swings.

Watching a hire for one full lap

After any purchase, stay on the plot for a single clear of the fence. Count whether hay appeared, whether the new body walked into a corner, and whether the silo kept up. That one lap is better data than a tier letter. If the lap looks good, you may leave; if it looks bad, you still have Cash you did not spend on a second specialist. Pair the observation with Getting Started if you are still on the tutorial blade. Hiring is a test, not a collection quest.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common farm questions.

How do I get Pirate Farmers?

Redeem RELEASE on the codes hub after the tutorial. If the code is dead, buy a standard Farmer instead.

Do workers work while I am offline?

Yes, they keep cutting grass. Process hay and collect stands when you return. Use the offline checklist.

Who is the best worker to hire first?

A Farmer you can afford after Cut Speed, or the Pirate Farmers from RELEASE. Compare later names on the worker tier list.

Should I hire every named worker?

No. Read special workers and only buy roles that fill a gap on your plot.
